Ted - Even you could find ways to cut. Its not all "programs for the poor". You would probably say "get out of Iraq". Even if you exclude programs for the poor and defense spending there is quite a lot of government spending.

How about we get rid of most federal subsidies, and things like "bridges to nowhere" and other pork.

You could probably get a 12 figure reduction in spending if you really cleaned house in these areas, and the reduced interference in the economy would in the long run help produce extra growth that results in even more tax revenue.
