I but the microwaveable stuff, no or light butter, then melt stick butter with a bit of garlic and cajun seasoning in it once in a while for a different taste. The kids tend to eat it all when I make it that way.

We use a popcorn microwave setting. I'll have to count the kernels the next time we do it.

YOU are a perfectionist :) however I also like few kernels. I don't enjoy biting down on one near the end of the bowl while not watching what I am doing!! :(
