That "straight question" is not in the online audio recording today. And noise at that point indicates the audio may have been edited. But I don't see that as an issue for our level of understanding.

It's clear that Nokia's license to most of QCOM's CDMA patents expire April 9, 2007. And it's also clear that Nokia can -- until year-end 2008 -- exercise an option to extend the exact terms, excluding expiration, of the 2001 CDMA license agreement.

However, it's possible some action by Nokia contrary to the terms of the agreement might cause Nokia to lose its right to exercise.
