A new Prius is only $23,000 or $26,000 and gets 50 miles to the gallon. They are a very sweet car. And I think they use a huge nickel cadmium battery?

I know lots of people who own them.

Funny GW said he would buy fuel efficient government cars when they are out. They are out, but built by toyota, Honda, mazda and mitsubishi-lol.

I read Honda had a big debate in their company a few years ago watching GM and ford making tons off of their huge trucks and SUV,'s, but they decided to stay green. Smart choice, so the Japanese are years ahead of us in the fuel efficient cars.

It was also the big oil spike in the 70's that gave the Japanese the big push as US auto makers refused to make fuel efficient cars.

VW and toyota were the big winners then and now.

And as outlined in the book "The man in a gray flannel suit" the "group think" of detroit has caused our greedy little car makers to go down the tubes again.

One would think they would have learned their lesson in the 70's!

Ford lost 12 billion last year and GM a ton and every Japanese car maker is in the black.
