While the population in the center of the country does currently extract government subsidies, the character of the people is much more self dependent. Taking what is offered is different than expecting someone else to give something. Take charitableness, it has been proven that the people in so called red states are more charitable as a percentage than those in so called blue states. If there were a move in my state to succeed, I would support it.
