I don't predict that the US will separate in the next fifty years. It is more likely to occur in the 2060 - 2100 range. We are in the laster stages of democracy.

I'd put *far* larger odds on the possibility for Quebec to separate from Canada... and B.C. & Alberta to petition to join the US as states #51 and #52... (and those odds only around 2 to 3 percent).

I wouldn't even put them that high. Quebec gets more respect for and adjustment to having French as its main language from Canada than it would from the United States, and it makes up a far larger percent of Canada's population, so it has more political weight.

I do agree that the US isn't going to break up any time soon.
