Many consider the surge to be a front to maintain troop commitments for a strike against Iran -- all they need now is a pretext. One way to do it is to redefine Iranians as terrorists and capture or kill them at will in Iraq -- and then escalate till things are hot enough that a strike can be justified without widespread opposition in the US.

From an investment point of view the risks are glaring and obvious.
