"You continue to confuse the function of insurance with somehow making health care cheaper."

No, I'm saying that getting rid of private insurance companies will lower the cost of health care by getting rid of the profits and administrative inefficiencies of said companies.

I've said, many times before, that health care will become cheaper because of many reasons including:

1. Getting rid of the AMA monopoly.
2. Getting rid of deadly, incompetent doctors.
3. Having basic, ongoing health care for everyone so that minor disorders don't become life threatening emergencies.
4. Stopping the subsidies for things like high fructose corn syrup.
5. Getting rid of television advertising for soft drinks, chips and fast food.
6. Subsidizing locally grown green leafy veggies, sidewalks and exercise classes.
7. Etc.

I want health CARE, not health INSURANCE. If insurance for catastrophic events is part of health CARE then fine but it is NOT equivalent to health CARE.
