This is substantially below what most medical providers like to get for their services.

Like to get?

Whatever happened to capitalist competition that you tout so much?

I think what's happened with the drug companies is instructive. They now market heavily directly to the consumer even though the consumer can't buy the drugs without the 'middleman' doctor. The consumer goes to see the doc, marketing materials in hand, and badgers the doctor (who probably doesn't know any more than the consumer about new drugs) who ends up writing a prescription.

That little skit probably costs the consumer several hours away from work and the 'system' around $200. For what? That's monopolistic practices at work with doctors being the only middlemen who can 'sell' the drug.

What nonsense.

I'd like to see if the Walmart idea of in-store nurse practitioners can work. $45 plus you get your groceries and shoes and tires at the same time.
