Perhaps a post could be put up for "Vote against suspension". If Rink's opinion of the rule's doesn't allow for having no suspension at this time (or in Rink's opinion and perhaps the opinion of many others on the thread he deserves some suspension) it would allow the minority (presumably including Ephud himself) to vote against permanent suspension without explicitly endorsing a month suspension (even though they know it will be the result), and then both posts can be added together against the permanent suspension post's recommendations. No, that doesn't work because it would let people double vote... And PMing Rink with such a vote wouldn't work either for the same reason (no one can know that you didn't recommend the month as well). Anyway I agree that a perminant ban would be a mistake.
