According to one Psychologists theory on the impact of sibling position on marriage outcomes, Bill and Hilary make one of the worst pairings. Hilary, the oldest child with younger brothers and Bill, basically an only child. Roger Jr. was a half brother born when Bill was about 10 years old. Both would be used to being the head honcho with sibs and ultimately would expect to be in a marriage. Hilary had the advantage of growing up with opposite sex sibs while Bill did not. By the way, the best pairing in this theory is oldest male with sisters that dote on him and younger sister with an older brother that she adores. Worst pairing is youngest male with older brothers and youngest sister with older sisters. Neither have experience with the opposite sex and neither can make a decision (in worst cases). Of course, many combinations can flourish if couples are willing to work at it.

Dale -

Ah. That explains it. Now that you mention it, I had heard that she was originally from Chicago. So she's as much a Southerner as she is a New Yorker.

I don't think "carpetbagger spouse" is quite fair, though. ;-) I mean, there's not usually a residency requirement for marrying somebody.
