I think you are wrong here. The UN inspectors couldnt find the stuff but never really doubted it existed. I know about scott ritter. Folks like Blix thought there were weapons, but less than the admin. And dont forget the wmds we were looking for were mostly chem and bio and we had no reason to believe that sadam had what he said he had.
For the most part i do believe it was bad intel, buying into what saddam said and doing little original research by a bunch of folks who could bearly read much less speak the language.

We can disagree on the above but still agree on the following:

And yes if you buy the above, and your intel is flawed and you dont prepare for the post war, war you are in deep shit.
