Who said that? Do you have a link or is that your "opinion"?

In the press, I have seen SIRI mention that "new receivers" in the field will be able to take advantage of these efficiences, while older units will not, but they older units are still fully functional.

Look! I don't just make stuff up because it sounds good.

Heck! I could just take your approach to providing proof of the absolute crap that you make up on any given day.. I could say something like.

Yeah!! I talked to someone who helped invent HM, He said that according to his "modulation analyzer" that the system is backwards compatable. So the fact that I claim that I have talked to some Yahoo on some Internet Chat Room that claims to be Albert Einstein's grandson, and claims he has some gizmo's in his computer room that verifies this notion.. That's good enough to call it a FACT for me, and hence everyone should also consider it a FACT.. Because after all. My self-importance complex tells me so.. LOL!!

Maybe you should take a minute and read before you open you trap?

SIRIUS to Increase Programming Capacity Over Its Existing Satellite Radio System

NEW YORK, June 13, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- SIRIUS Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) today announced that it has developed a new, advanced proprietary technology that will initially increase the company's total network capacity by approximately 25% within its existing digital transmission system. The technology, known in the industry as hierarchical modulation, will allow SIRIUS to offer additional audio channels, as well as advanced services such as data and video, without affecting the quality of its broadcasts.

*snip*

The technology, developed by SIRIUS' Advanced Development Team based in Lawrenceville, NJ, will work over SIRIUS' current network, with minimal upgrades to its satellite uplink and terrestrial repeater infrastructure. SIRIUS has already conducted several tests of the technology to confirm the performance.

The new modulation technology will not impact the customer experience of existing SIRIUS radios sold or currently on the market. Future SIRIUS radios will be outfitted with the new technology, making it possible for them to receive the additional services planned.

Says they already tested the technology in 2005. Yet you were claiming as a fact that they only began to test it in the middle of 2006?? At least according to you and some Internet Chat Room Yaaaho that you assign a large degree credibility because he tells you What you want to hear.

What a ______________ (fill in the blank)
And so it goes,
