Not sure what you mean. I am just trying to show a way to increase insurance coverage of uninsured individuals WITHOUT instituting a whole new layer of bureacracy. Medicare seems to be operating relatively satisfactory as regards the patients (I know its put pressure on Drs and Hospitals with its pricing structure) and I would think it could be expanded at very little OVERHEAD cost. Whether its the greatest insurance or not is not the point. Rest assured if we ever go to a single payer system it will NOT compare favorably with many private insurance policies today. Finally, I dont think we are talking those big a numbers on the people that TRULY need insurance. I know they throw out these HUGE numbers of uninsured persons but many of them are college students and similar age people that refuse to pay the premiums. jdn
