Public school teachers accept long hours at relatively low pay and operate under very difficult circumstances. I salute them for their dedication and for the sacrifices they make. Their unions are like so many others -- it is not a perfect system to be sure. But I could not agree with you at all when you use your sweeping hand to characterize them as you have as being inadequate because they have too much job security (and of course school teachers do not have tenure or anything like tenure). On the contrary, it is a miracle that they even want the job in the first place. They serve as selflessly as those who wear a uniform to defend America.
