Maybe. They are seeking investments to take advantage of their cheap labor. A reasonable policy though not communist.

Actually, did I read that China is now permitting elections be held at the local level?? If so, are political parties forming?

I've read nothing of this. It would be a start, but I doubt it is happening.

Thanks very much for mentioning that item. I was utterly unaware of such a thing. I used The Google for China elections and there are well over 32 million links! Not all apply, but it's pretty astounding.

Clicking through the first few google pages, I noticed there were no US media links. Go US media! Always keeping the American people informed of what's happening around the globe.
