Funny! I saw a couple of cardinals out back today. I'm not a bird enthusiast, but I was awed at the different varieties that were around the house at the same time. There is our daily flock of doves that are eating the deer corn and 2 cardinals were in their midst. A woodpecker was on the back deck eating, of all things, dried cat food. There was also a pair of birds about the size of sparrows, but with blue backs.

I filled the bird feeder earlier today and, at your prompting, left a little out on the top of the fence for the squirrels.

Why should they go hungry, after all?
