You are forgetting that for 1300 of those years the Muslims happily abused the Jews, and considered them almost as valuable as slaves. Sometimes the Jews had good times, sometimes the Muslims needed someone to pick on, and times for the Jews were not so good. Now the Jews got a little piece of land and in 60 years made more progress than all of Islam has made in 13 centuries, in spite of constant attacks, and aggravation. After attacking the Jews in israel for 60 years, The average Muslims have nothing to compare to the freedom and modernness and comfort of Muslims who live with Jews in Israel. Must be embarrassin to be such complete and utter failures in life.

Actually, the leaders of democracy and civilization such as we have in the GOP have exploited that sentiment to get the support they needed to go to war against the Moslems in the Middle East for OIL --- the vital "black gold" and lifeblood of industries and fuel of the world and for the very fact (according to Henry Kissinger) that the country in control of world's fuel controls the world. Indeed, the US wants to enjoy hegemony over the rest of the world! From what I know as a chemist myself, the world will always need OIL for the vital chemicals it provides, even if the world has in place technologies that dispense with using oil as a source of energy for transportation and homeheating & etc. .
