Saddam was a thug who admired Hitler and Reagan and loved to eat Doritos. He knew how to crack heads, take names and keep the Shia Islamists down. He was an evil, but it's uncertain if he was the lesser or greater evil. So far it looks like he was the lesser evil. He also had no WMD, no AL Qaida connection and was in a box with no air force. He was a menace for sure, and needed to be frisked and kept in his box, maybe even replaced. But before you replace someone like that you have to have an alternative government ready which the people of Iraq will accept, and the UN will support. The UN are the only ones capable of nation-rebuilding, along with NATO. We cannot do that alone, especially with corrupt companies like Halliburton leading the way.
