You, amongst many on this thread make the same error by lumping the bad works of a political unit of a faith to taint the faith from which the political unit springs from And you are ignoring the problem that many of the faiths adherents believe that the political structure should be controlled by their religious structure, and that all other political structures are of less value than the one imposed by their religion. Thus in order to fight the political structure you end up fighting the religion. There is little evidence of Islamic Adherents condemning the violence that is so predominant within their religion.
