Some guys in Minutemen t-shirts were assembled outside Terri Schiavo's hospice supporting the religious wackos. This alone proves they are rightwing extremists. Some of that same crowd were calling for the murder of federal judges. But then when you hear the wild exaggerations of the Tancredo-Malkin crowd (both racists IMHO) about how Mexican immigrants are terrorists, etc. you realize these people are not dealing with reality. The reality is that 99% of illegals are desperate poor people who will do any kind of menial labor in order to survive, usually labor none of us in the US want to do, not even poor blacks, trailerpark trash or ex-convicts. Interesting if you ever wake up very early and walk around a city. You will see the illegals already wide awake and beginning to work, jump starting our society. They clean up, deliver and prepare everything for us, plus they do all the really unpleasant work. There is obviously a darkside to illegal immigration, but did you see the Texas statistics that illegals add 18 billion to the state's economy, while they cost the state only 1.2 billion? No wonder Bush heartily supports illegal immigration. We haven't seen Minutemen become vigilante killers or serial killers yet, but we also haven't seen any realistic proposals from them. The fence for instance is outrageously expensive anmd impossible to build with, yep, tens of thousands of illegal workers.
