Canadians are taking advantage of it where possible. Of course the American policy of arresting the officers of any company doing business with cuba makes it a tad restrictive, but there are companies willing to lose any chance of doing business in the US.

If trade with Cuba is such a great deal why aren't the Canadians taking advantage of the opportunity? Or the Euros,

Sherritt International, a Canadian company, has operated in Cuba since the mid 1990s.

They have mining (nickel and cobalt), oil and gas and power generation interests in Cuba plus some agricultural and hotel interests.

The Spanish are the largest foreign investors in the tourism industry in Cuba. Tourism is still the main source of foreign exchange although biotech/pharmaceuticals is growing fast.
