There is no evidence whatsoever that Iran has ever attacked us The attack on the American embassy and the kidnapping of American citizens qualifies as a deliberate act of war. the Embassy, any Embassy, is considered to be sovereign soil of the nation it belongs to and employees of the embassy are considered to be working in their home country. The attack on the American Embassy require a response as an act of war, but that dimwitted peanut farmer couldn't think of one. Thus iran learned that the US would accept anything Iran did.
