In the late 80's it became fashionable/popular to bash liberals.

The early attraction and success of liberal movements from the late 50’s to the early 80’s had mostly to do with the social conditions for women and minorities in America, which were oppressive for many and clearly not equal to the conditions which offered opportunities for self-actualization for white men. Some of that bashing was justified because liberal elites who had marshalled the movement, had misinterpreted and politicized the principles of equality to mean among other things, sameness and radical leftwing success.

A rat, noticing a frolicking otter in the river might complain that his hole under the dumpster is depressingly dark, dingy, and unsuitable. Throwing him into the river may make conditions the same but unlikely to provide the quality of life that the otter is enjoying. Many people since the 80's and up to this decade are increasingly feeling they have been thrown into something that doesn't suit them.

Huddled on the bank shivering,

And I continue to be astonished at educated, professional women who align themselves with the right.

Very simple. I believe in free minds and free markets.

My heroes are Margaret Thatcher, Friedrich Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman, Adam Smith, and Ronald Reagan.

I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, male and female, who owned their own small businesses.

We're the ones who get taxed to death in order to pay for Left wing fantasies like wealth distribution.
