Precisely, in Vietnam. We learned that "kill ratios" were meaningless. I think Iraq is different though. You have so many age old animosities that I'm not sure most sides see us as the #1 enemy. They see the other groups as the enemy. In this situation I don't see how we can "win"; can't even picture what "win" looks like.
