The constant refrain from the left, when selling health care, is the "lower infant and elder mortality" in Europe. First off, those two figures are not a good criteria for judging health care. Secondly, Demographics make a big difference in both of them. [Blacks and Hispanics have a shorter life span, and you can't get Blacks and Hispanics to use pre-natal services at the same rate as whites no matter what you do.] Then add in the different ways various countries figure infant mortality and the US is ahead of them.
