honey proclaimed: I would agree with her royalness if she had said that imping someone's real name is immoral. But can she seriously be saying that once a fake ID is used and then disposed of, that it can NEVER be used again by someone new--and that it forever belongs to the original owner? Shirley you jest! :)

I said it like I meant it. Classless and tacky at best to adopt someone's unique ID, I don't care if it's unused or not, and I don't care if it's identical or just so similar that there's no mistaking it--and fraudulent and deceptive at worst. And I tend to think the latter in cases of "imping" which is how I see this case. No subsequent excuses, alibis or rationalizations are necessary, nor are they going to cut it. This, by the way, is my firm opinion, my take-it-or-leave-it opinion, but JMHO as always.

Would that same principle apply to (if you had one--I don't know) your ex-husband. You wouldn't want him, but you sure as heck wouldn't want fake-number-two wife to have him. LOL! =:)

I do not have an ex-husband (not that it's any of your business), but I think the analogy is lacking in logic, and baaaaad. There's a difference between adopting or copying someone else's unique ID on an internet message board, and taking a new name or a new spouse in real life through marriage or other legal action. Frankly, I think it's the other way around, hypothetically speaking--I think if I wanted to be rid of the spouse, I don't believe I'd care if someone else wants to adopt him, that's her problem. I do care if someone wants to adopt my identity.

My 101 screen name was never disposed of. It is and has been my screen name on 101 for more than two years.

suite101.com

Note that this was BEFORE you started using your current 101 screen name.

If someone you frequently disagree with, say Shres for example, started using your 101 screen name here, would that be OK with you?

I guess it shouldn't surprise me, after the bashers defended lying to get on a radio program, that one of them now defends an imposter.
