I can't remember where now. It was about 45 years ago when I was 12. I remember one trip was down the Erie Canal, some time spent in the St. Lawrance Seaway in the 1,000 Islands area. Saw an English Destroyer hauling the Queen of England, they gave us a flag salute as she was sleeping.

I remember driving the boat on the last half of crossing Lake Erie. 48' Cris Craft Connie. My parents and the boat owners drank themselves into a stupor, not that either of my parents could drive a boat. I had to hold the boat off the Canadian port as a 12 year old bringing a 48' boat into the docks wouldn't be looked on kindly.

I did learn enough that when I took a United States Power Squadrons course 20 years later I did pass with the first perfect score in the state of Illinois.
