I think I remember the average person earns less than $300K in their lifetime (more than 25 working years).

I think it would be more like 40 working years.

But lets even just take 30. $300k over 30 years is $10k a year. The average income in the US far exceeds $10k a year.

$300K over 25 years is $12,000 per year, or $5.77 an hour.

As for earning over $1M in a lifetime, remember that it's before taxes.

By the way, I don't mind a forced savings plan if people can't be trusted to save on their own. If only the government actually did put the money into an interest-bearing savings account ...
