If you are an AMD investor you don't look at max pain, you experience it :)

The 07Jan Option Chain history is ample proof that Max Pain is nothing to hang your hat on.

What effect did 100,000 Open Interest 07Jan 20 Puts have on the share price at expiration? None that I can see. True, the 100,000 was reduced to 60,000 at expiration, but that is the point. It is ephemeral.
