Excellent eye-opening post! I agree with the assessment that Israel is not really afraid of Iran's future nuclear capabilities. What Israel is REALLY afraid of is that a nuclear Iran would deter Jewish immigration to Israel and also cause Israelis to emigrate out of Israel, thereby wrecking the Zionist dream of creating a viable homeland and Eretz Israel. Already a good number of Jews have left Israel for the US and other places largely for the sake of their children's future. Of course, if Iran is overcome by a joint US-Israel attack, then Israel's power will increase immeasurably in the Middle East. So will that of the US whose future as the world's sole superpower will be assured! As Henry Kissinger said, "The nation that controls the world's fuel controls the world." .
