Thornburg Investment Management Inc. announced today the introduction of the Thornburg International Growth Fund. The fund seeks long-term growth of capital by investing primarily in equity securities from issuers around the world.

Under normal market conditions, it will invest at least 75% of its assets in foreign securities or depositary receipts of foreign securities.

The fund will be managed by Alex Motola and Brian Summers, both managing directors at Thornburg in Santa Fe, N.M. Mr. Motola also manages Thornburg Core Growth Fund.

“Thornburg International Growth Fund is a logical complement to our existing funds,” he said in a statement. “This fund will be geographically flexible and focused in 40 to 50 securities, while other funds in this category average more than 100 different holdings. The fund can invest in companies of any size, from larger, well-established companies to smaller ones including those with market caps under $100 million.”
