I answered your objection before you raised it.

"If your concerned that demographics are different and this somehow distorts the data, then scroll down on that Australian government study (the PDF link above) and look for figure 2, or adjusted workforce participation rates. The ranking of the US improves from 8th to 5th."

The German retirement age was just changed to minimum 67 years. No law prohibits you from working longer though.
