You are dead wrong if you think Islamic kooks would adhere to the MAD nuclear deterrent idea.

Look Chris. Nukes in the hands of bad people tend to be used to blackmail other countries. Russia ring a bell? You say Israel is out of control. It must seem that way, but how about a few Palestinians come over to your neighborhood and start shelling near your house with rockets for several weeks. What would you do? You'd be screaming bloody murder and asking for US military to come in and crush them. And if they fled across to the Mexican border and continued shelling into the US, you'd want the US military to go crush them in Mexico.

So don't be so quick to judge unless you have lived through the shit they have to live through day in day out.

Now to balance out what I just said, I will say the Israelis have asked for it to a certain extent with their stupid settlements in Gaza and the West Bank. They should get the hell out of there and never go back.

But the Arabs in that region are far from blameless. Any culture that teaches kids that Jews are descended from pigs and apes and glorifies suicide bombing is nothing but a backward, barbaric piece of sh!t. So don't be a Jimmy Carter. Look at the situation for what it is. To throw nukes into an already volatile situation is the highest for of irresponsibility.

"Iran with nukes is a very bad thing for everyone."

That seems to be common knowledge, but I don't agree. I don't think Iran is as crazy as their President, just as we aren't as crazy as ours.

Recently, JF posted that its hard to think outside the box on these issues. [That's not how he put it but I think thats what he meant.] And I agree with him 100%. Everything I know about Iran and Iranians does not comport with the image presented by the media, and more importantly, the president of the US. In fact, I think Iranians are very much like us. And frankly, I am tired of our leaders telling us otherwise.

I still think an Iran with nukes would put a brake on out-of-control Israeli behavior. Far better than WE ever have. I don't think Israel would have done Lebanon if Iran had had nukes. Nukes seem to constrain in balance of power situations.

It still puzzles me the lack of outrage as to what Israel did to Lebanon. The right has not impressed me over the past 6 years but the hypocrisy they exhibited over the Lebanon debacle is chilling.......Lebanon, the supposed "hope for democracy" in 2005, was led to the slaughterhouse by Bush and the Israelis in 2006. For that reason alone, Bush should be impeached.
