"Who would be the role model for the boy? For the girl?"

Are you talking about an individual?

"There's a big problem with this issue that has never been resolved, so all the so called findings are isolated in a sterile experimental setting,"

(Actually, I think that's one thing that pretty clearly HAS NOT HAPPENED. Well known difficulty when researching humans: You *can't* lock 'em up in a laboratory setting birth-to-death like you can with 'other' experimental animals... So information must be gleaned from the 'real world'.)

" but nothing to show that a child will grow up normally in such a one sided setting in the real world..."

(Other then ACTUAL EXPERIENCE, that is.... :-)

"...there's a whole body of research that is politically biased, I'm sure you already know this much..."

I believe you must be imagining this supposition of yours. The idea of PEER REVIEW is to *expose* badly designed studies, inappropriate biases leaking into the results, faulty math, confounding factors, etc.

But, I repeat: If YOU know of any studies that should be considered/examined, feel free to reference them!
