Not all of the Dem politicians made appeals for a surge 2 years ago. Some of them were fairly recent. And none of them publicly announced their 180º flip-flop until Bush began to speak about a surge. Add to that the almost 100% knee-jerk rejection of everything the Bush Admin recommends, including numerous instances where they have to disavow their own prior positions that aligned with the Admin. It makes it nearly impossible to pretend this isn't just another case of leftist politicians doing their damndest to thwart the Bush Admin by any means necessary.
