When I was just 6 or 8 years old I recall watching them drop fish into Grand Lake from an airplane. They flew in very low and slow and just poured 'em out. I don't think they do that anymore, but I'll have to ask my cousin (if I ever see him again).

Grand Lake is about 8700 feet elevation. I would think the higher lakes wouldn't be very accessible to a plane load of fish. That would be a very heavy load.
