Cannot say how true it is but read that the quality of the banking system in China is poor. Many run by Communist Party members, the good ol' boy network. Seems one official was even given a suspended death sentence due apparently to corruption. I think the quality of my Chinese investments are good, but now I'll have to be more watchful. Two that I own offhand are Chalco and ChinaMed. ChinaMed has been getting banged around a bit (CMED) but Chalco is holding up okay (ACH).
