i bumped in to gordie at boston garden in his younger days.. got his autograph. he was great to watch on the ice. i remember in school most kids didn't know about hockey. my first game was bruins and montreal at boston garden in 50's with rocket richard. i think canadians scored four goals in about five minutes of the game. those were the days no helmets, fights with sticks, scrappers to get the blood of the ice, goalies drunk out of the their minds before they went into the cage, no masks, no helmets. no timeouts, no tv breaks. one fast game. i feel in love with it. must have gone to just about every weekend home game. blizzards etc never stopped me. ha third balcony was a $1. and standing room in the standium was around $4. We would wait for game to start find empty seats and take them. sorry for the flash back.
