Sounds about right. I also get a rate cut from my power company after the first 500kw for installing one.

I live on the south shore of lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and heat about 3200 sqft. I'd say my heating costs are about $150 a month in the dead of winter. Not sure what my rate is per kwh.
