"everybody forming their opinions around pundits instead of doing their own thinking,"

That has been happening since the beginning of time. People make decisions based on the information they deem reliable. For instance, based on what I know, there is no reliable reporting from the NYTimes; thus I disregard anything they publish unless my purpose is to find out the instructions being issued to mindless lefties. If on the other hand you get you "news" from a source that generally includes both sides of the story, you might be able to arrive at an independent conclusion that has some validity.

The leftwing media never includes anything that undermines their propaganda. Thus anyone that relies on the leftwing media must be assumed to be unable to arrive at any independent conclusions.

"doing their own thinking, which is what I believe you and I do."

We actually have sources of information that provide both sides of the story; it is possible for us to arrive at independent conclusions.
