Bush should have said, vote for me and I'll start two wars that will cost $1TRILLION or more.

That would have been the decent thing to do.

Decency, of course, is lost on Republicans.

She is saying it now.

Yes, I understand she is saying that if she gets elected in 2008 she will end the war. She'd be president- she could DO that. The last election wasn't for president- all they could do was say they would try to help work for an end- the congress doesn't actually have the power to end it, although they can cut off funding (but that is difficult to do, since our troops would probably bear the brunt of that- and no one wants to hurt the troops). As far as I can see the congress has been pretty audacious since they took over...on Jan 19th? I think? You expected them to end it that day? How exactly? As far as I can see the new Dems are giving Bush one hell of an ache in the buttock regions- which is what the Us people expected of the Dems. I'd say they are getting their money's worth. If Bush is seen to push things- send more men, for example, even thought it is clear congress does not want him too, the people will understand why congress does not cut off funds for the military. No one wants the troops to suffer. And blame will rest where it should rest. With Bush. Watch the Reps up for reelection run away from Bush. That should tell you all you need to know.

Although I am very annoyed with the docile Dems who let Bush cow them in to this stupid war, I appreciate their new crankiness and hope they kick Bush's butt all around the white house for the next two years (and I suspect about 60+ % of Americans share that hope)- and at the same time I hope they give him enough rope to hang himself on Iraq, because I feel certain he will do just that, and those who do not wish to hang with him will run away... Ah...how sweet it is. Just hope the Dems don't screw things up. Far as I can see they are in the catbird's seat. No doubt that annoys republicans immensely :-) Must say they gives me ever so much pleasure.
