The entire argument that Iranians have some safe haven in Iraq from which they are coordinating attacks against Americans in Iraq sounds looney to me. Someone who makes that claim should be able to produce the Iranians, along with some reasonable proof that they are coordinating attacks and not just visiting their cousin Ahmed. If YOU are going to spout that kind of nonsense, show us your proof, otherwise you are spouting nonsense.

The American press has tried and convicted the Iranians; the likelihood of convincing Americans of any other possibility is near impossible. Its not unlike the build up to the war in Iraq.

I agree with that. But I think it is pretty certain that Iran is trying to influence events in Iraq, they'd be crazy not to. In addition, I think they would be happy to provide weapons and money to help out militias carry out missions against the Iraqi Sunnis.
