Big oil has way-way-way too much political power, especially inside this Bush administration.

The best way to remove oil and politics is to completely deregulate the oil industry. Then the politicians can't touch it, and the oil industry has no reason to be involved in politics. If there is no government involvement in the oil industry, there is no political power for oil, and no partisan issues to discuss. I'm sure that's what Kerry would recommend, are you suddenly abandoning John?
