"To kill for recreation living creatures who bond and mate, who give birth and nurture their young, who experience happiness, pain, fear and grief is quite simply barbaric. In some measure, I feel that killing animals for sport can desensitize the individual to the value of life in general, not only for other creatures but also for humans."

Wholeheartedly agree! Sign me up for humane treatment of all of our little friends who deserve more.

I'm with you on this post, Sioux.
Actually, I think it would be better to cull the herd of humans....maybe we can start by targeting the manly-hunters, followed by the evil-doers of our species. I'm pretty sure that this would be a benefit to the gene pool as a whole.
As a side note, I would not look down on Bear hunters armed with a swiss army knife.....I'd think that might be a fair exchange!! ;-)

Yeah. Those mountain lions need a least one day to hunt deer without being shot at.

When I lived on the east coast I liked to shoot fish with a speargun (actually I mostly used a pole spear).

That is all true, but if I catch him in the water I will spear the author just the same.
