De-regulation invites criminality. I am an expert on the +L debacle which cost us 300 billion and doomed GHW Bush's economy. The Reagnites who organized it basically let their cronies steal anything they wanted from the banking system by letting them bet anything they wanted without risk of loss. The federal government would cover everything. Many crooks rushed in, including GW Bush's brother Neil. Now we have the same thing going on in energy, health care and Iraq war profiteering. Just all kinds of huge fraud. So why would it surprise you that Republicans who couldn't respond to Katrina or run a war would let felons get concelaed gun licenses? It's called poorly-run government because they don't give a damn about government. They hate efficient government. They want to rape it and pillage our public wealth.
