That's right. And if we had things your way tobacco companies would still be advertising to the public (recall Camel marketing smokes to children) that cigarette smoking is a healthy past time. They'd still be paying scientist to debunk "government" science that said smoking was addictive and cancer causing. And they'd be doing so knowing full well that the gov't science was correct. So you are right, government sponsored science is bad, and Exxon Mobil is good. The scientists Exxon Mobil pays are the ones that say there is no truth to global warming. Stick with Exxon, Peter, you can trust em. The world's climate ain't changing because of carbon emissions, that's right.
