I personally doubt she is a lesbian. My read is that before botox, good tailoring, and good hairdressers, she perceived herself as so unattractive that she has compensated by achieving in the political and professional arenas. The photos of her as a younger woman show that she really has changed her look quite substantially. She was quite unattractive back then. Hence, I doubt that she had many suitors. I should think that sex is something that she didn't really think about very much, dalliances with Vince Foster notwithstanding.

I doubt it hurts liberals- we're lax on social morals issues, and we don't stick our nose in the bedroom, for the most part. For the moral majority folks I would think hypocrisy would be a huge problem, if they try to flip flop and support someone of ambiguous moral character. But maybe they are more morally flexible and more ethically whimsical in their voting support than I take them to be. It will be interesting, if Rudy gets the nod, to see just how flexible some of those right wing Baptist backbones are.
