read to confirm their own beliefs spending lots of time on those passages, Well that's the way it is and not just for global warming.. Buried deep in my profile it says right after Albert Pine ... PEEVE... 'Grey blind' folks.. IOW folks that see only two sides or are dogmatic in their views.. The lines have been drawn wrt GW and it's already become us agin them...

ast growing plants to sop up the carbon they burn Yeah I figure that's what would put things right if we get a methane 'belch' :O) Looking @ Toronto... exactly the opposite is happening.

I agree .. we really don't know what is going to happen and I haven't seen any real political will as yet to right things.. but I expect lots of opportunism.. gotta love democracy LOL.. Anyway.. reducing emissions at worst case.. will save gas :O)

Russet, IMHO, it isn't really a question of what you, I, Exxon Mobil, Rush Limbaugh, a Senator from OK or anyone else believes but rather whether there is even a slight possibility that global warming is man made. The risk of making a mistake here could spell doom for the planet, so why take the risk.

The following (clumsy) equation sums it up:

Expected Outcome for Planet = Potentially little impact * Probability ( global warming is a myth) + Potentially Catastrophic ( global warming is not a myth and we take no action) + Potentially Salvageable ( global warming is not a myth and we take corrective action)

Unless anyone can say that we are 100% certain that GW is a myth, we have to take action, IMHO.........

Cheers
