The US has the firepower to kill as many people as it wants to -- the US can kill every person on the planet if it chooses to exterminate all life on earth. But the ability to slaughter people does not make the killing legal let alone moral or ethical. I doubt that most Americans would support the killing of all people and all life forms -- on the other hand they don't support Bush on Iraq and that has not stopped him yet.
